Sleep Apnea Solutions, Inc. (SAS) is dedicated to eradicating the prevalence of sleep apnea through the use of the home sleep test (HST). By identifying patients who are at a high risk for obstructive sleep apnea and utilizing clinically effective portable monitors in the home, we can help reduce the number of people who remain unaware of their condition or are unwilling to go to the lab. We are also able screen and send individuals with indications of other sleep disorders for a polysomnography (PSG).
HSTs allow patients to sleep in the comfort of their own home. The tests are simple, accurate, and affordable.
Our patients are given a comprehensive clinical assessment to evaluate their risk for obstructive sleep apnea. If they fall within the high probability category and have no other co-morbid medical conditions or other suspected sleep disorders, a prescription is obtained from the patient’s physician. Adhering to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine’s guidelines, the patient is educated by an experienced clinician when receiving the device. A registered sleep technician scores each night of study and a board certified sleep physician interprets the results. The results will then be faxed to the referring physician.
Should the patient test positive for OSA, our clinician will discuss possible treatment options with you. Most physicians and patient choose to pursue a 30-day auto-titration study.
During a 90-minute appointment, our clinicians educate and encourage patients on the importance of PAP usage, instruct the patient on equipment, mask usage and maintenance, and answer any questions the patient may have about his or her treatment. At the end of the titration study, the clinician will notify you of the results and long-term treatment options. Once determined by the physician, a clinician will meet with the patient to discuss the study results, physician recommendations, and treatment options.
Upon physician request, SAS can continue managing the patients therapy and follow up with his or her treatment, further streaming the process.
